Bought your domain somewhere else but hosting with us? You need to point the domain to ZedgeHost by setting our nameservers at your registrar. This one change connects your domain to your hosting, website and email here.
★ Our nameservers (copy these exactly):
ns1.my.zedgehost.com
ns2.my.zedgehost.com
✅ Before you start
- Login details for the website where you bought the domain (your registrar)
- Know that this change makes our server handle your DNS — any custom DNS records at the old place (like special email settings) should be recreated here afterwards
Steps (at your registrar)
- Log in at your registrar and open your domain's management page.
- Find the Nameservers setting — it may be labelled "DNS", "Nameservers" or "Change Nameservers".
- Choose "Use custom nameservers" (not the registrar's default ones).
- Delete the existing nameservers and enter ours, one per line:
ns1.my.zedgehost.com
ns2.my.zedgehost.com - Save the changes.
- Add the domain to your hosting (if it isn't your main domain): cPanel → Domains → Create a New Domain — see "How to Add Another Website (Addon Domain)".
✅ Result: The domain now points to ZedgeHost. The change spreads across the internet over the next hours (typically 4–24 hours — see "DNS Propagation"). After that, your website and email on our hosting start working on this domain.
⚠ Common mistakes & fixes
- Typing errors in the nameservers: even one wrong letter and nothing resolves. Copy-paste the two lines exactly as shown above.
- Expecting it to work instantly: nameserver changes need propagation time. If the site opens for your friend in another city but not for you yet, that's normal — wait a few more hours.
- Email was with the old provider: nameserver change moves your email DNS too. If you want to keep email elsewhere, tell us before changing — we will set the right MX records here first.
- Domain bought from us: nothing to do — domains registered at ZedgeHost already use these nameservers.
