You do not have to buy your domain from us to host with us. If your domain lives at another registrar, you have two ways to connect it to your ZedgeHost hosting — this article explains both, so you can pick the right one.
★ Option A: Point the nameservers to us (recommended)
Change the domain's nameservers at your registrar to ns1.my.zedgehost.com and ns2.my.zedgehost.com. Your DNS, website and email are then all managed here in cPanel — the simplest setup, and the one our guides assume. Full steps: "How to Point Your Domain to ZedgeHost (Nameservers)".
Option B: Keep DNS there, point only the website here
If your DNS must stay at the other provider (for example, your email is specially configured there), leave the nameservers alone and instead add an A record at that provider:
- Find your hosting IP address — it is shown in your cPanel home page sidebar as the "Shared IP Address", and in your welcome email.
- At your DNS provider, set the A record for your root domain (@) to that IP address.
- Do the same for "www" — either an A record to the same IP, or a CNAME pointing www to your root domain.
With Option B, remember: your DNS records are managed at the other provider — cPanel's Zone Editor changes will have no effect; email only works if your MX records point correctly; and free Let's Encrypt SSL may need our help in some setups, so open a ticket if the certificate will not issue.
Both options: add the domain to your hosting
- Log in to cPanel → Domains → Create a New Domain.
- Enter your domain name and untick "Share the document root" if it is a separate website.
- Submit — then upload your files or install WordPress in the new folder.
✅ Result: Your outside domain now serves your website from ZedgeHost hosting, while staying registered where it is. You can still transfer it to us later if you want everything in one place.
