Your domain opens a page saying the account is suspended. Take a breath: suspension is a pause, not a deletion — your files and data are still on the server. This article explains the usual reasons and the fastest route back.
Why accounts get suspended
- An unpaid invoice — by far the most common. A hosting or renewal invoice passed its due date and the grace that followed (see the Late Payment article).
- A policy or abuse issue — for example the account was reported, or a hacked site was sending spam and had to be contained quickly for everyone's protection.
- A verification or information request that went unanswered — rare, and always preceded by emails.
The route back
- Check your email first — including spam. Suspensions are always accompanied by an email explaining the reason; that email is your fastest diagnosis.
- Check Billing → My Invoices in the client area — you can still log in there while suspended. An overdue invoice showing? Pay it in full.
- After payment is verified, the service is reactivated — usually promptly — with files, databases and mailboxes exactly as they were.
- No unpaid invoice, or the reason is different? Open a support ticket from the client area and quote the suspended domain. For abuse-related cases, the ticket conversation explains what was found and what cleanup is needed before reactivation.
✅ Result: The suspended page is replaced by your real website, and everything resumes — the interruption becomes a story, not a loss.
⚠ Common mistakes & fixes
- Waiting while suspended: the clock toward termination keeps running during suspension, and termination deletes the data. Treat a suspension as same-day urgent.
- Paying a DIFFERENT invoice: accounts can hold several. Make sure the overdue one tied to the suspended service is the one settled to Paid.
- If the cause was a hack: reactivation without cleaning just earns a second suspension. Follow the hacked-site guide, change every password, then ask for reactivation with the cleanup described.
