Account credit is money held on your ZedgeHost account. New invoices — renewals above all — can settle from that balance automatically, so a service never lapses just because an email reminder landed in spam.
How to add funds
- Log in to the client area → open the Billing menu and look for "Add Funds".
- Enter the amount you want to deposit and confirm — an invoice for that amount is created.
- Pay that invoice as normal, following its payment instructions.
- Once the payment is verified, the amount appears as your credit balance, shown in the client area.
Don't see an Add Funds option? It may not be enabled on your account yet — open a support ticket and ask us to arrange a credit deposit for you; the result is exactly the same.
How credit gets used
- When a new invoice is generated, available credit is applied to it — fully if the balance covers it, partially otherwise (you then pay just the remainder).
- Your client area always shows the current balance; invoices settled from credit are marked Paid like any other.
- Overpayments — paying an already-paid invoice, for example — also end up as credit rather than being lost.
✅ Result: Renewals pay themselves from your balance, due-date stress disappears, and small one-off charges stop needing a payment errand every time.
⚠ Common mistakes & fixes
- Depositing far more than a year of services: credit is convenient, but it is not a savings account. Keep roughly a renewal cycle's worth.
- Assuming credit covers domain transfers or special orders: most standard invoices yes; unusual manual orders may still be invoiced separately — your balance and each invoice's status always tell the truth in the client area.
- Closing the account with a balance: ask support about your credit before requesting cancellation — see the cancellation article.
